Best Selfie: LuMee
Used by some of the biggest celebrities in the world, LuMee has redefined what it means to take the perfect selfie. Inventor Allan Shoemake created the product and has cornered the market, providing the standard for lighted cases. Their newest case, the LuMee Duo ($69.95), offers both front and back lighting so you can take great pictures from any angle. While only currently available for iPhone 6/6s and 7 models, Apple has recently decided to offer their products in-store and online(http://www.apple.com). Since their initial launch, LuMee has partnered with Kim Kardashian West and been listed on Oprah’s Favorite Things, just two more of the many massive accomplishments to date. In a world where selfies outweigh standard photos and snapchat is by far the most used social media outlet, LuMee definitely is on to a LIT revolution.
Best Design: Case Escape
Case Escape didn’t grow to be one of the top Etsy sellers through a lack of creativity. This company started in early 2013 on the beaches of California with the mission of providing handmade phone case designs inspired by nature. All of their cases are customizable and are made to order, so you will receive a one-of-a-kind case each time you order. They have a wide selection of device types, including all iPhone and Samsung Galaxy/Note cases, as well as the option of a matte or glossy finish and two distinct protection levels. Case Escape generally releases new designs with each season and they are very reasonably priced ($18.99 – $22.99). Check out their all new geographical maps designs for 2017, which include a free digital wallpaper with your purchase to match the cover. Shop categories include Bohemian, Geometric/Chevron, Wood Designs, Metallic/Glam, and Marble/Stone. If this seems like your thing, head over to their Etsy page and spread the love!
Best Wallet Case: Ullu
Ullu could win two categories on this list, that is if we included a “Best Leather Case” section. While the leather is what distinguishes them in the marketplace, it’s their wallet case, named “Wally” that caught our eye as the top tier pick for functionality and style. The Owl logo and multi-colored textured leather has created a recognizable brand over the past year in the phone case industry, with their cases being used by celebrities such as Kendall Jenner, Gwen Stefani, and Rihanna – just to name a few. Choose from a multitude of color options (19 to be exact) at $59 and add monogramming for an additional $10 for their Wally Case, which comes with a sleeve in the back large enough to fit both cards and cash. While this may seem like a relatively high price tag, it’s actually very reasonable compared to it’s leather competitors. If you’re the type of person that needs to keep your money where your phone is, look no further.
Best Battery Case: Mophie
Mophie has been the flagship brand for battery cases for two years now, and they continue to innovate to keep themselves at the top of the market. Their newest case, named Mophie Juice Pack Air, allows for 27 hours of battery life for the iPhone 7 (33 for iPhone 7 Plus!), the most of any battery case on the market. While the new case is the sleekest and arguably the most protective case they’ve ever released, the real incentive is the brand new wireless power system. Charge Force is technology which allows for the phone case to charge anywhere by simply placing it on the charging dock (pictured above). This is to add to their already trailblazing line of products including fully waterproof battery cases and ones that have additional storage included. Mophie may add some bulk to your pocket and be the most expensive case on our list ($129.99), but nothing can replace the convenience of having a full battery on the go.
Best Lens Case: BitPlay
BitPlay has options for every photographer to convert your already impressive smartphone camera into a full fleged professional setup. Included in it’s options are the HD Wide Angle Lens, Telephoto Lens, Fisheye+Macro Lens, and Circular Polarizer Filter, which are both easily interchangeable and highly effective for snapping pictures anywhere. Pre-order is currently available for the iPhone 7 and 7 Plus cases, which includes their best HD lens for $121.99. This price point is impressive, given that lenses of similar quality for cameras go for hundreds more. Other notable features include a physical shutter button, which creates functionality as easy as a digital camera and a grip that allows for steady shots with a single hand. The grips are interchangeable and upgrades are available if you’d like to include a wood component to your camera case. Unleash the photographer in you with this all new SNAP! 7 case from BitPlay.
